Staff Profile:Dr Fiona Underwood

Name:
Dr Fiona Underwood
Job Title:
Lecturer
Responsibilities:
Areas of Interest:

Research:

I am interested in the development of statistical methods in interdisciplinary research to address applied problems in conservation, climate, natural resource management and agriculture. I am especially keen to exploit the potential of Bayesian methods and graphical statistical modelling to address these issues. Two key areas of research work are:

1. Development of statistical methods to understanding how climate variability impacts a natural or managed system or organism.

2. Design of monitoring/sampling strategies:

  • Development of long-term monitoring study designs for natural resource management
  • Implications of research questions that require modelling of complex systems on study design
