Entry requirements

Entry requirements vary for the different programmes and we have listed only the requirements in terms of A Levels and the International Baccalaureate. Applicants with different qualifications should contact our admissions team at ugmaths@reading.ac.uk. For international students without the normal entry requirements an International Foundation Programme is available. Note that the University usually requires a grade C or better in GCSE English (or equivalent) for entry.

BSc Mathematics (G100)

Entry requirements

UCAS Tariff:
A Level: 320 points including grade A in A Level Mathematics, or 340 points including grade B in A Level Mathematics
International Baccalaureate: 6, 6, 5 from three higher level subjects, including 6 in higher mathematics

In computing your UCAS points total, we will count a maximum of four A/AS Levels excluding Key Skills and General Studies.

MMath Mathematics (G103)

Entry requirements

UCAS Tariff:
A Level:
340 points including grade A in A level Mathematics
International Baccalaureate: 6, 6, 6 from three higher level subjects, including 6 in higher mathematics

BSc Computational Mathematics (G1G4)

Entry requirements

Note that A level General Studies is not counted.

In addition to:
GCSE Grade B or better in Science and English in GCSE. 

BSc Mathematics and Statistics (GG13)
