Whiteknights campus

Whiteknights is the main University campus and houses the majority of our subject areas with the exception of Film, Theatre & Television; Theatre Arts Education and Deaf Studies and Teacher Training. These departments are located on our Bulmershe Court site (see below).

Bulmershe Court campus

Bulmershe Court is the second of the University's three campus sites - Whiteknights and London Road being the others - and is located off Woodlands Avenue, approximately two kilometres from Whiteknights. The Departments based at Bulmershe are Film, Theatre & Television; Theatre Arts Education and Deaf Studies and Teacher Training.

Please note: The Departments and other buildings on this site are only open to visitors on weekdays from 9am till 5pm (9am to 4.30pm on Fridays). As some parts of the tour route take you through Departmental buildings, we would therefore recommend that you visit the site within these hours.

Travelling to the University

By bus:

Information about which local bus routes will take you to our Whiteknights and Bulmershe campuses is available from the Reading Buses - University routes website.

By train:

Information about travelling to the University by rail can be found on the how to get to Reading by rail page.

By car - Whiteknights campus:

If you plan to visit at the weekend, you will be able to park in any of the University car parks. If you are planning to visit on a week day, you will need to obtain a parking permit.

To obtain a parking permit

When you arrive at the Whiteknights campus, please make your way to the main University Reception desk in Whiteknights House (Building No 27 on the map and identifiable by the flag pole which is in front of it). The reception staff will issue a temporary permit that must be displayed in your vehicle. You will then be able to park in one of the University car parks.

Please note: If you are planning on using SatNav to get to the university please be aware that our postcodes may not work on your system. It is advisable that you consider alternative ways of finding the university. For further information see the location of the University page.

By car - Bulmershe campus:

To park at Bulmershe please request a parking permit in advance from Bulmershe reception by:

• Telephone: +44 (0)118 378 8636.
• Email: reception@reading.ac.uk, with a subject line of "Bulmershe parking permit".

You will need to give the details of your visit, your vehicle make and registration number and mobile number.

The car park can be found from the second exit off Woodlands Avenue. Further information can be found on the find us pages.
