Undergraduate Halls applications

After you have filled in your UCAS form and sent it back to us, the Admissions Officers will decide whether to offer you a place at the University of Reading.

If you are offered a place at the University of Reading the Faculty Admissions Office staff will send you information about how to make your accommodation application online.

If you choose the University of Reading as your firm choice you will be guaranteed a place in Halls if you apply for accommodation before 1 August. If your academic offer is conditional on your examination results you will be able to apply for accommodation online from 9 May. If your academic offer is unconditional you will be able to apply for accommodation online from 1 March. Applications will normally be dealt with on a first-come first-served basis in order of application.

If you choose the University of Reading as your insurance choice you will not be able to apply for accommodation until your academic offer becomes unconditional. We will normally be able to offer you a place in University accommodation; however, your choice of where to live is likely to be more restricted.

If we are unable to offer you a place in University accommodation do not worry as there is plenty of private accommodation available in Reading. Alternatively, we may be able to offer you a temporary place with a host family until a hall place becomes available.

Couples or family accommodation

Please note that students requiring accommodation for a couple or family must submit their application for accommodation online. However, the options are very individual so the Off-site Housing Team will then contact you to discuss options.
