SCONUL Vacation Access Scheme: information for students from other universities
If you are a student from a higher education institution in the UK or Ireland whose library is a SCONUL member you may access the University of Reading Library during our vacations.
If you are a part-time, distance learning or placement student you may be able to borrow from us by using the SCONUL Access Scheme.
What can I get at Reading under this scheme?
You will have access to printed stock in the Library and photocopying facilities. Access to materials in Special Collections may be possible. Please enquire at least 24 hours before any intended visit.
Borrowing privileges and access to electronic databases are not included in this scheme.
Access to the University's computers and network is possible only after registration with IT Services. Application forms are available from the ITS Help Counter on the 1st Floor of the Library.
How do I use the scheme?
Just bring your Library card from your home institution with you to the Library.
You will have to sign the Visitors Book on arrival to agree to abide by our Library rules (PDF)
