Bulmershe Collection

The Bulmershe Collection contains material previously held at Bulmershe Library, which closed in July 2011. This material supports teaching and research in education, health & social care, music and film & drama.

Where is the Bulmershe Collection?

The Bulmershe Collection to split between the three subject floors of the Library as follows:

2nd Floor

  • 001 – 299 : computing, philosophy, psychology
  • 400 – 789 : languages, science, technology, management, art, music, CDs

3rd Floor

  • 790 – 899 : film, theatre, literature

4th Floor

  • 300 – 399 : politics, economics, education
  • 900 – 999 : history
  • Teaching Practice Collection (formerly School Services Collection), kits and models

The Bulmershe Collection is marked in green on the Floor plans and has green shelf labels to match.

Items in the Bulmershe Collection will be integrated gradually in the main collection.

How do I find items in the Bulmershe Collection?

Search the Library catalogue, Unicorn. Any items in the Bulmershe Collection will have a location of "On the shelf in the Bulmershe Collection" and gives the floor number.

Can items be borrowed?

Most items in the Bulmershe Collection can be borrowed. The number you can borrow will depend on type of material eg you can only borrow five 7-day loans. Items in the Teaching Practice Collection are loaned for a term.
