Agricultural pamphlets

We hold copies of pamphlets produced by many Agricultural Experiment Stations and Agricultural Research Institutes based in the United Kingdom and overseas. Some of these are on the open shelves as books, but a large number are kept on closed access.

Searching for agricultural pamphlets

A large number of our agricultural pamphlets are listed on the Library Catalogue on Unicorn. When searching Unicorn for an item from a specific organisation type in a few important words from the name and click Search.

If you are searching for a pamphlet produced before 1984 and it does not appear on Unicorn ask at the 2nd Floor Information Desk, where written records are held of agricultural pamphlets acquired by the Library before 1984.

Most organisations are now putting the full text of the agricultural pamphlets they produce onto the Internet. The subject gateways listed on our useful websites for agriculture, policy and development guide can help you to find out which ones are available.

Consulting agricultural pamphlets

Any pamphlets which are located on the open shelves in the Library can be borrowed.

Pamphlets in the Agricultural Pamphlets Collection are not kept on open shelves - these will have a Call Number on Unicorn of Agricultural Pamphlet--A… followed by a number (eg Agricultural Pamphlet--A1234). Most pamphlets in this Collection are available for loan, but first you need to request them from the off-site Store using Unicorn.
