Athens authentication

The Athens authentication system controls access to a range of databases and e-journals. To login to Athens-protected resources you must download the Reading Athens cookie. You will only need to do this once on your own machine, or when using the centrally managed PCs on campus. You will then be able to login using your University username and password. For some resources access is routed via the UK Federation, just select University of Reading from the list of institutions.

When accessing resources remember to look for an Athens login option. This will take you to the Reading Athens login page (as long as you have the Cookie).
