Newspapers can be a good source for the latest developments in a field and for current opinion on controversial topics.

All of the major British newspapers are available online, although these may not be the exact equivalent of the printed version.

- LexisLibrary - includes many UK national and local newspapers. Click on the News tab at the top of the welcome screen to search individual titles or multiple ones.
- New York Times Article Archive (1851 onwards, although not all articles are free)
