There are a number of specialist resources in this area, located in the ARC (see Other libraries for real estate and planning):
- Property market reports
The ARC has a collection of printed property market reports, indices and other research publications by chartered surveyors and related professions. It also has a collection of local plans and structure plans. Many companies now make their research data available in the internet.
- Focus
Focus is a suite of online databases produced by Property Intelligence Ltd. Information includes: rental evidence, town profiles, rating lists, London occupiers and local authority plans. It is only accessible from the ARC.

BCIS (Building Cost Information Service)
Password required - available from the ARC staff.
BCIS is provided by the Building Cost Information Service, which is part of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. The service aims to provide current, accurate information on UK building costs and tender prices.
