Real estate and planning: legislation
Useful sources
The Library holds British parliamentary papers, including debates, command papers, House of Commons and House of Lords papers going back to 1801. It has all statutes (cats) and statutory instruments. These can be found in the Law Section on the 4th Floor. See the subject guides for further guidance. In addition there are several subject specific titles, which are particularly relevant to real estate and planning.
- Encyclopedia of planning law and practice
Available in the Real Estate and Planning Resource Centre (see Other libraries for real estate and planning).
This is a key reference source. It is a loose-leaf encyclopedia in six volumes, containing legislation, Department of the Environment Circulars, Planning Policy Guidance notes (PPGs) and Regional Planning Guidance (RPGs). The encyclopedia is updated regularly and there is also a monthly bulletin, which gives details of recent developments and sometimes includes consultation papers. PPGs are also available as individual documents (at 3rd Floor Reference--711.17-GRE or in the Real Estate and Planning Resource Centre) or online.

Please note that although law reports are classified as periodicals on the Library catalogue, they are actually shelved as a separate sequence in the law section, on the 4th Floor of the Library. There are a number that are particularly relevant to real estate and planning.
