- Centre for Information on Language Teaching and Research (CILT)
The national centre of expertise on language teaching. Aims to collect and disseminate information on all aspects of modern languages and the teaching of modern languages.
- Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education (CSIE)
Offers free online access to some of its publications. Also provides links to other organisations concerned with inclusion as well as statistical information on inclusive education.
Thousands of free TV clips from the 1920s to the present in languages including French, German and English. Of interest to teachers of history and modern languages.

The Institute of Education at the University of Reading makes available recordings of presentations from academics in the department and visiting lecturers. These are only available to University of Reading users.

- National College for Teaching & Leadership
Supports continuing professional and leadership development, and school improvement. The agency was formed from the merger of the National College for School Leadership and the Teaching Agency in April 2013.
- National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER)
An independent educational research institution.
- NIACE, the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (England and Wales)
An independent charity that aims to encourage all adults to engage in learning of all kinds. Provides publications, research, advocacy and support for adult learners.
- National STEM Centre
The National STEM Centre is building the largest collection of resources for teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the UK. Alongside contemporary resource materials including print, multimedia, and practical resources, is a growing archive collection, which showcases several decades of curriculum development. Many of these resources are freely available online from the National STEM Centre E-Library.
The Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED) is officially the Office of Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools in England. This site provides summaries of recent inspections.
UK body promoting excellence in communication with deaf and deafblind people. (Formerly Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People). Offers nationally recognised qualifications, including in deaf awareness and British Sign Language (BSL). Buy publications from their shop or register for their online BSL homework service to practice and test yourself in BSL. The first unit and online dictionary is free.
- Teacher's TV
In-classroom instructional videos developed for training and developing teachers, covering a wide range of subjects. Many videos have accompanying synchronised transcripts, which are downloadable.
