Get ahead with help from your liaison librarian!
Are you struggling to find a book or article in the Library? Perhaps you need extra help with your literature review or research? Your liaison librarian is here to help!
Each department has a dedicated liaison librarian. They can help you make the most of Library resources through training sessions arranged by your department or through one-to-one help.
What can your liaison librarian help you with?
Your liaison librarian can help with any Library-related questions, ranging from simple enquiries to more complex and detailed requests. Contact your liaison librarian for subject-specific enquiries, including:
- Finding items on your reading list
- Searching databases and using others resources (such as EndNote)
- Referencing
- Finding information (for example for a literature review)
- Accessing other libraries and archives
Contacting your liaison librarian
To get in touch with your liaison librarian, see our list of contacts. This will direct you to the individual page for your subject's librarian, where you will find their email address and telephone number. They will often be able to answer your question via email, or might suggest a personal appointment to talk through your query in more detail. You might also wish to find your liaison librarian when they are available at an Information Desk in the Library.
Other sources of help
Your liaison librarian will be able to assist with a wide range of queries, but there are a number of other sources of help available. Take a look at our subject help pages for subject-specific, academic information such as databases, guides and useful online resources.
You might also wish to contact the Study Advice and Maths Support service, which can provide assistance with all aspects of studying, such as essay writing and time management.
