Importing references from databases into EndNote

There are three ways to import useful references that you find in online databases into your EndNote library. These are listed in order of preference:

  1. Direct export - this is the easiest option and is offered by an increasing number of databases, including Web of Science. Search the database and choose the export option when saving your references.
  2. Filters - use EndNote filters to import records you have saved from a database.
  3. EndNote Online Search - this facility allows you to connect directly to a database from within EndNote and download directly into your Library. We do not recommend its use, apart from when downloading from library catalogues.
