Switching to another institution’s Athens access

If you are a member of another institution which gives you access to a different set of Athens resources, you will need to remove the Reading Cookie to allow you to use them. You can only have one Athens cookie on your machine.

  1. When accessing an Athens resource you will see the following:
    The Athens cookie
  2. Click on I want to login with an alternative account. This will remove the cookie from your machine.

Do you have an individual Classic Athens username and password for your other institution?

If you do, you can login using the boxes presented to you now.

Is the other institution using AthensDA?

If you can login to their resources using your institutional username and password then you will need to pick up their cookie. You can do this by clicking on the "Alternative login" option on the Athens login page for the resource and searching for the name of the institution. Or they might have a web page like ours for you to visit to pick up their cookie.
