What is the Reading Athens Cookie?

A cookie is a string of text that a web site puts into the cookie file on your web browser, so that the web site can remember who you are.

The Athens Cookie identifies you to Athens as a Reading user, but contains no personal data. When you try to access an Athens-controlled resource the cookie automatically directs you to the Reading login page.
