Responsibilities

  • one-to-one advice sessions with individual students on developing more effective study practices
  • quick-query advice on topics such as referencing and getting started on assignments
  • general and department-based teaching on effective study practices
  • develops paper, online, and video resources to support academic practices

Erika is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Areas of Interest

Erika gained her first degree in Dutch and English Literature from the University of Antwerp. She gained a PGCE from the same university, and spent three years teaching secondary school and A-level students in the Netherlands. She then went on to obtain an MA in Library and Information Studies from University College London, and has held several positions in academic libraries supporting students in the development of information literacy skills.

She is particularly interested in digital literacies and the impact of technology on student learning, innovative pedagogical practices, and in supporting international students.
