Digital options
Online texts are a new way to meet demand for core texts, especially for large groups of students and those studying part-time or at a distance. The Library is keen to pilot and obtain, where appropriate, relevant e-book packages and e-journal subscriptions.
E-books
- Records for individual e-books are included in the Unicorn catalogue.
- See the E-books page for a list of the packages we currently have available.
- See Ordering e-books available on MyiLibrary for information on finding out if a particular text is available on this e-book platform
E-journals
Links to all our e-journals are available in the E-journals Finder (and on the Unicorn catalogue). All the major e-journal packages, including ScienceDirect and Business Source Complete, are listed on Major e-journal hosts page.
Scanned course materials
Many course materials can be scanned and made available in Blackboard. In order to comply with the terms of the Copyright Licensing Agency's Photocopying and Scanning Licence this has to be done by the Library. Find out more from our Scanning course reading page.
More information
Contact your subject liaison librarian or Christopher Cipkin, the Course Support Co-ordinator, if you are interested in digital alternatives to core texts.
