Noise in the Library

We ask that Library users respect the rights of other users to work quietly and comply with Library rule 13

'Silence shall be maintained in silent study areas. Quiet study shall be maintained elsewhere, except in areas designated for group study. Mobile phones should be switched off or in silent mode in the Library or URS Building. Mobile phone use is only permitted in Café Libro or in lift lobbies.’

too much talk? Text us!

Use our NOISYCHAT text service to request support by texting quietly, without leaving your study place or identifying yourself to others.

Text ‘NOISYCHAT’ and exactly where in the URS Building the noise is to:

07796 300 114

e.g. NOISYCHAT G29 Silent Study

Then a member of staff will come to investigate as soon as they're available. Unfortunately staff cannot engage in phone or text conversations and so you will not receive a reply. Texts will be charged at your normal network rate.
