Extended opening hours at Main Library

From Wednesday 15 April 2009 the Main Library Whiteknights will be extending its opening hours on a permanent basis.

On Monday to Thursday evenings during term-time and the period between the end of the Easter Closure and the beginning of the summer term the Library will be open until midnight, extending opening from the current closing time of 22:15.

In order to make possible this increase in the opening hours of the Main Library, the level of service provided will be changed: 

• Ground Floor staffed services will remain open until 19:30 for the collection of holds, Inter-Library Loans and items from Closed Access 
• From 19:30 until midnight the Library will be open on a self-service basis including loans, renewals, returns and fines payment using the Self-Service Points

This Easter Vacation opening at the Main Library will be extended to 19:00 on Fridays and it will be open 11:00 - 17:00 on Saturdays.

During the examination period 18 April to 24 May, the Main Library will be open longer than usual until 21:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. (This is two hours longer that usual on Fridays and four hours longer on Saturdays and on Sundays).
