Fees and funding

Tuition fees

For students starting university from 2012/13 the UK Government has introduced a permitted fee range of between £6,000 and £9,000 per annum and announced changes to the way in which UK universities will be funded.

In order to continue to provide all our students with the highest quality experience, support students in financial hardship and continue to develop wider access to the University, we will need to charge £9,000, which in effect replaces the loss in state funding. We take pride in the excellence of the student experience we provide: the high-quality, research-led teaching, excellent facilities and a comprehensive range of student support services have led our students to consistently score us highly in the National Student Survey. Please see further information. Students who start university before 2012 will not be affected.

Scholarships and funding

Sources of funding

University-wide and other sources of funding may be available including the International Baccalaureate Scholarship, the Vice-Chancellor's Bursary and Achievement Prizes. A disability support fund, harship fund and access bursaries are also available. Please see further information or email studentships@reading.ac.uk.

Student loans

Students who live in England can apply for a student loan (and non-repayable grants). You should aim to apply by January during the year of entry. See further information.
