Postgraduate study that sets you up for success

A postgraduate qualification from Reading's School of Law helps to set you apart from other graduates, sharpen your skillset and launch a successful career in the legal sector.

Whether you are studying with us before embarking on your career, or to switch careers, your postgraduate law qualification will enable you to go further. According to the latest Graduate Outcomes Survey, 95% of law graduates are in work and/or study 15 months after the end of their course.*

gain practical, real world experience

Studying law equips you with transferable skills which are highly sought-after by top employers across a range of fields. We pride ourselves on the range of pro bono opportunities we provide, giving you the opportunity to put your legal skills to use in real-life situations. This experience is not only a valuable addition to your CV when applying for placements and training contracts, but also benefits the community.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in mooting (mock trials) and negotiation skills competitions, and to undertake training in providing legal advice and mediation. Across many modules you will also benefit from sessions led by guest speakers, who bring a wealth of practical experience and can bring the subject to life.

"Straight after completing the course, I was able to secure a position with a large European banking group's legal division. Highly motivated lecturers, a practical approach, and the diverse and international atmosphere was the perfect preparation.”
