In July 2015, Dr. Annika Newnham and Dr. Maebh Harding (University of Warwick) published their findings on their Nuffield Foundation funded study on "How do County Courts Share Care of Children between Parents", 2015. They found that the courts played an important role in solving complex disputes and safeguarding children; the removal of court as a viable option for many parents through cuts to legal aid will mean that parents may agree to unsafe arrangements or fail to reach a compromise over contact.

In June 2015, Professor Rosemary Auchmuty, together with Professor Erika Rackley (University of Birmingham), ran an archival training workshop for the Women's Legal Landmark's Project at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.

On 14 May Professor Angela Cameron (University of Ottawa) presented some of the findings of an empirical study (co-conducted with Vanessa Gruben) on sperm donation and assisted conception in Ontario, Canada. The study deals primarily with women-led families.

In May 2015, Professor Aleardo Zanghellini chaired a session on Queer Theory at 'Human Rights, Justice, Media and Culture', at the 5th Asian Conference on Cultural Studies (28-31 May, Kobe, Japan). He also presented a paper entitled 'Colonial Rule, Homosexuality and the Press in the Late Victorian Age: The Dublin Castle Scandal'.

In May 2015, Dr. Nora Honkala presented a paper '(Mis) Understanding Forced Marriage - The Domestic Application of the Refugee Convention in Asylum Seeker Women's Claims in the UK' at the Nordic Asylum Law Seminar: 'Unequal Treatment: The Root of All Claims for Protection?' (University of Uppsala, Sweden).

In January 2015 Professor Grace James hosted an ESRC funded seminar, as part of the series 'Work-Life Balance in the Recession and Beyond' at the School of Law.
