Biographical Details:

Pedro joined the Law School as a Lecturer in September 2014. He obtained a DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2013. He has also been a Visiting Scholar at the European University Institute and an Associate Research Fellow at New York University's School of Law.

He was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Competition Law and a Visiting Tutor in Competition Law and European Law at the University of Oxford, a Visiting Tutor in European Law at King's College, University of London, and a Visiting Lecturer at Universidade Catolica de Lisboa's LLM.

Prior to joining academia, Pedro worked in private practice. He was a judicial assistant in the Portuguese Constitutional Court, and worked for Linklaters LLP in both Lisbon and London between 2005 and 2014.

Pedro's research focuses on European Law, Competition Law, International Economic Law, International Public Law, Public Law, International Dispute Resolution and legal and political theory. A thread running through all his research is an interest in how the emergence of legal fora that are not purely international or State-based impacts on State and international law, and what the development of transnational law means to our understanding of what the law can be and do.
