Biographical Details
Daphne joined the Law School as a Lecturer in September 2006. Before joining the School she was a doctoral associate and research assistant at the Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute. Daphne wrote her thesis on "Origin Related Intellectual Property Rights as Best Policy Options for the Protection of Traditional Cultural Expressions". She completed her PhD in 2008. Daphne specialises in intellectual property law, and in particular trade marks, geographical indications, and intellectual property and development. She is a Visiting Research Scholar at King's College London, and a member of the Board of Directors of Geneva-based research and policy think tank IQsensato. Daphne is the author of "Intellectual Property and Traditional Cultural Expressions" as well as several chapters in books and journal articles. She is a contributing editor of Domain Names: Global Policy and Procedure, and Trade Marks, Trade Names and Unfair Competition. She specialises in Intellectual Property Law and European Law.
