Introduction

  • ISP Introduction

Welcome to the Instrumentation & Signal Processing Research Group, part of the School of Systems Engineering at the University of Reading. The group is concerned with the development and application of new instrumentation and techniques for use over much of the electromagnetic spectrum, from radio frequencies for communication, through the terahertz (millimetre and sub-millimetre wave), infrared and optical regions, to X-rays for medical imaging.

Active areas of interest within signal processing include non-Gaussian signal processing, nonlinear filters, video and image processing, digital communications (e.g. channel equalisation and co-located and distributed multiple antenna systems), synthesisable signal processing algorithms, the processing of terahertz and ultrafast signals, optical signal processing and medical signal processing.
