Specialised Courses
Our specialised courses can be specifically designed according to the requirements of a group of ten or more participants.
We are able to offer specialised courses in:

- Teacher Training for English Language Teaching
- English for Professional Purposes
Participants will benefit from our expert English language provision, in conjunction with subject-specific expertise from across the university.
English for Academic Purposes and Transferable Academic Skills
Examples of our tailor made programmes include:
- English for Business Undergraduates from the SKEMA Business School, France
- English for General and Academic Purposes for undergraduates from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University
- Cultural project work for French undergraduate students from the University of Angers, France
- English for Petroleum Engineering undergraduates from the University of Baghdad, sponsored by BP and Shell
- English for writing journal articles (by electronic delivery at a distance), sponsored by the Insitut de Recherche et Developpement, France
Teacher Training for English Language Teaching
With the ISLC's extensive experience in both teaching and language teacher development, we offer custom designed training courses to suit the specific needs of particular groups of teachers.
English for Professional Purposes
We are able to design courses aimed at improving participants’ English in specific occupational contexts.
Examples of our tailor made programmes include:
- English for Administrative Purposes for Chinese University Administrators, sponsored by the Chinese Scholarship Council
- English for Administrative Purposes for Turkish District Governors, sponsored by the Turkish Ministry of the Interior
- English for Law Enforcement Purposes for senior European Police Officers on behalf of the European Police College (CEPOL)
