Opening Hours
The Self-Access Centre is open 9.00am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday during term-time, with a reduced schedule during vacation time. There is always a member of staff available to explain to you about the materials which are available, and to help you to use the equipment.
Materials
There is a wide range of materials available in a variety of languages, including books, DVDs, grammar materials, dictionaries and pronunciation work. Most of the material needs to be used inside the centre. However there are readers in a number of languages which can be borrowed.
The website also has a range of useful resources.
Languages
Our Self-Access collection incorporates extensive resources for learning English, Spanish, French, Greek, Italian, German, Arabic, Japanese and Chinese. In addition, the centre holds a core of materials in over 50 languages.
If you need advice on what or how to study, you can email Joan McCormack (j.c.mccormack@reading.ac.uk) to make an appointment, usually on a Wednesday afternoon.
