Dates and fees

Our courses run from the 7th July to the 16th August 2014. Most courses run for two weeks.

The table below shows our course dates and tuition fees for 2014.

The Silchester Field School 7 July – 16 August 2014 (applicants can decide how many weeks they want to apply for within these dates) From £210 per six day week*
Postgraduate Latin  7 July – 8 August 2014 £500
Postgraduate European Culture: Current Trends in Dante Studies  21 July – 25 July 2014  £450
Course fees* include:
  • Tuition for approximately 20 teaching hours per week
  • Social activities including Welcome reception, farewell events and Saturday trip
  • Campus card with associated discounts
  • Library and study space access, borrowing rights and access to electronic resources
  • Certificate of attendance

Fees do not usually* include accommodation, food, airport fares or airport transfers.

*Note that Silchester Field School attendees stay in tents at the Silchester site but that it is possible to stay on campus and commute each day (20-mile round trip). Reductions are offered for those who have attended the Field School previously. You must pay the full tuition fee amount to guarantee your place on the course. Most courses require a minimum number of students in order for the course to run so it is best to apply early. If a course is cancelled because it does not have the required number of applicants you will be refunded the full cost of your tuition fee. If you book travel before your course place is confirmed you do so at your own risk. We advise that you do not book travel until your course place is confirmed.
