The University of Reading's International Summer School (ISS) offers an excellent opportunity to visit the UK and study English language with an academic subject in our beautiful campus environment. Each year ISLI welcomes groups of students from across the globe to study English with a range of subjects, enjoy exciting social events and make new friends.
ISLI welcomes applications from overseas institutions interested in sending groups of students to the International Summer School and short courses at other times of the year. We can negotiate course dates and create bespoke courses for groups of students.
ISLI is also able to provide discounts and offer package deals to student groups of ten or more. A Taste of UK Higher Education
This course is especially suited to students with an intermediate level of English language. Students will receive core teaching in English Language, lessons on British Culture and have a range of tailored discipline-specific options to choose from. The course can be used as an extra module for undergraduates, or as a 'taster' for students hoping to familiarise themselves with a subject before choosing their undergraduate degree course.

Short Courses in Academic English
ISLI can offer groups of students the opportunity to learn academic English for a short duration in order to either prepare for university study in English, or to improve their current knowledge of academic English while they are studying.
Subject-Specific Short Courses with English
ISLI can co-ordinate short courses in specific subject areas combined with English language tuition. SAs an example, ISLI previously ran the popular 'International Human Rights Law with English' course (duration: three weeks).
Age and English Level
The minimum age for students is 17 and students are expected to have an intermediate level of English (4.5-6.5 IELTS) in order to engage with study.
The central International Summer School team are based within the International Study and Language Institute (ISLI). The ISLI offers a range of short courses courses for individual students throughout the year, if you are interested in studying with us, please contact us.
