Responsibilities

I support undergraduate and postgraduate practical classes, and Outreach activities for the School of Biological Sciences which involves preparation of solutions and equipment as well as demonstrating in classes. I am also a lab coordinator supporting the research laboratories in the Harborne building which involves conducting laboratory inductions and general maintenance of equipment and consumables. I also help train the student volunteers for the Cole Museum and assist with the pest control of the Herbarium.

I am also a part of the Staff/Student Postgraduate Research Committee acting as a representative of Technical Services for the Harborne building.

Career history

I graduated in 2008 with a BSc Hons in Forensic Science from the University of Lincoln. I have since worked as a medical laboratory assistant and associate practitioner in Microbiology at the Royal Berkshire Hospital before joining the University in September 2016.
