- Responsibilities:
Judy leads the Study Advice and Maths Support team. She supports individual students in their academic development and runs workshops on effective study practices. She leads on the assessment of dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties, and helps to ensure that the university provides fair and consistent support for all students in their academic development. She is nominated liaison Study Adviser for the Faculties of Science and Life Sciences.

Judy gained her PhD at Bristol in experimental psychology in 1982 after extensive research into short-term memory for numbers. She worked as a research fellow in Psychology Departments in York, Durham and Reading and researched memory, aphasia and baby vision before finding the perfect job and becoming a Study Adviser.

- Judy was Project Co-ordinator at Reading for LearnHigher during the CETL's operation from 2005-2010, and responsible for overseeing research into Time Management and Report Writing. She is a member of the committee for the Association of Dyslexia Supporters in Higher Education (ADSHE) and a past member of the steering committee for the Association for Learning Developers in Higher Education (ALDinHE).
