Study spaces
General study spaces
Most teaching rooms are bookable - contact Central Room Booking and Timetabling to book a room for group or individual study. You might also find a vacant room - please feel free to use it, but be aware that you may be moved on if the room has already been booked.
The Library
The Library has various Study Zones for individual and group study. For more information please see the Study Zones page on the Library website.
Departments and classrooms
Your Department may have a room set aside for quiet study (ask your Departmental Secretary).
S@iL Away areas
There are some S@iL Away areas with wi-fi access in various building across campus. These are handy for individual study and some group work.
Evening, weekend and 24-hour access to study spaces
Some rooms are available for 24-hour and weekend access, including Palmer G09 (only in the Autumn and Spring terms), Meteorology GL68 and Agriculture GL20.
Please note that you will need your Campus Card (and PIN) to access the 24-hour PC labs. Visit the Campus Card website for more information on building access and reporting card problems.
Rooms in HumSS and the Palmer Building are available to be booked between 09:00-22:00 Monday to Friday.
Spaces for practising presentations
The Library's Presentation room (106) is in high demand during the Spring and Summer terms, so we have made G06 in the Palmer Building available for practising presentations on Saturdays (for the duration of the Spring term only). Please contact Central Room Booking and Timetabling to check availability and book this room.
All bookings should be made 48 hours in advance and are not confirmed until you receive notification from the Central Room Booking and Timetabling Office.
