Spinning plates, lots of them: Home schooling and working from home
When lockdown started there was a view that children would be educated at home, with schools directing this virtually. This is what is happening, but it's not ‘home schooling' when the parents/carers also have a job to do. It's plate spinning.
Helen Bilton is a teacher; a researcher of outdoor play and learning. She speaks regularly in the media about schools, education and children.
Helen will talk about children (all ages) and outdoor play; about practical ideas for what parents/carers can do with their child; and about how to help their child transition back to school. She will also talk about some clever tricks to do with managing behaviour, and hopefully reassure parents/carers about what they are doing already.
