Apply for IMAGINE campaign business competition
Tuesday, 18 December 2018
A new business competition launched by the University is offering the opportunity to turn an idea about how to impact one of the world’s most pressing issues, into a sustainable business proposition.
Prior experience of building a business is not necessary as Just IMAGINE if…will offer individuals the chance to win up to £75,000 of bespoke research and support from the University of Reading and Henley Business School.
The competition, developed in partnership with Paul Lindley, founder of Ella’s Kitchen, is the latest 'big idea' to be featured as part of the University’s fundraising and volunteering campaign.
Alongside partners including the Knowledge Transfer Centre, Grant Thornton and Kames Capital, the University-led competition will pair ten finalists with business leaders, academics and social innovators including Piers Linney of Dragon’s Den fame; Will Butler Adams, CEO of Brompton Bicycles and Kate Robertson, former CEO of Havas and Founder of One Young World.
Each finalist will receive support to turn their idea into a sustainable proposition designed to tackle one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which they will present to judges at a Finals Day on 28th February 2019 at Thames Valley Science Park, with the winning idea announced at a prestigious Gala Dinner that evening.
If you have a great idea that you’ve always wanted to make happen, apply no later than 31 December 2018 on the IMAGINE website.
