New Committee on Student Experience & Development (CoSED)
Thursday, 11 October 2018
The Sub-Committee on Student Experience and Employability (SCoSEE) is to be re-named the Committee on Student Experience & Development (CoSED), with effect from October 2018.
This change follows consultation with a number of key stakeholders and reflects the extension of the remit of the University Board for Teaching & Learning (UBTL) to include the student experience, as recommended by the University Executive Board (UEB). The aim of this change is to encourage a more joined up and effective prioritisation process for matters relating to the student experience.
The draft terms of reference for CoSED are as follows:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->a) having regard to the diversity of our students, to take an institutional overview of the University’s support for students and to identify opportunities to enhance the student experience (other than in direct academic contexts);
<!--[if !supportLists]-->b) to foster collaboration and sharing of good practice, and in particular to consider how to maximise the effectiveness of activities in terms of students’ personal and professional development to enable them to reach their full potential;
<!--[endif]-->
<!--[if !supportLists]-->c) to monitor activities and data relating to both the student experience and the employability of students, and to make recommendations for policy change that will promote and enhance the delivery of the University’s objectives in these areas;
<!--[if !supportLists]-->d) to measure the impact of enhancement activities;
<!--[if !supportLists]-->e) to advise and report to the University Board for Teaching and Learning (UBTL) and the Teaching and Learning Strategy Board (TLSB).
These terms of reference and membership will be reviewed and finalised at the first CoSED meeting later this month. For further information about our Teaching & Learning committee structure please click here.
