Collaborate with undergraduate researchers through UROP
Wednesday, 10 October 2018
Researchers – could your work benefit from collaboration with undergraduate students?
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP) offers undergraduate students the chance to gain hands-on research experience on projects covering all disciplines across University.
Applications are now being accepted for collaborative research projects between academic departments and undergraduate students.
The programme provides undergraduates with an opportunity to gain research experience through a paid six-week project during the summer vacation. For staff it is equally rewarding – collaborating with undergraduates can produce a fresh perspective on research and can help develop students into promising candidates for postgraduate research.
The deadline for applications is 5.00 pm, Friday 21st December.
Staff information session
A lunchtime information session for staff will be held on Wednesday 7 November. The sessions aim to provide staff with an informal opportunity to find out more about the scheme.
Places can be booked via the Employee Self-Service Training tab or by emailing urop@reading.ac.uk.
UROP Showcase event, Wednesday 14 November
A showcase of UROP projects completed over the summer will be held on Wednesday 14 November, 1.00-3.30pm at 3Sixty (RUSU), Whiteknights campus.
If you’re interested in applying to the programme, the showcase is a great chance to hear first-hand from students and staff involved with UROP research projects.
Later, a celebration evening will be held in Henley Business School from 5.30pm.
