Dr Andrea Kreideweiss joins as Director of Careers and Employability

Dr Andrea Kreideweiss

The University of Reading is delighted to welcome Dr Andrea Kreideweiss as our new Director of Careers and Employability.

Andrea is an experienced career service professional with 10 years experiences in the sector. She has joined Reading from London Business School where she has been leading the MBA and Master in Management career programme team, looking after the career development of 1,100 students from 70 countries. Prior to that, Andrea worked at career services across the UK, including Imperial College and the London School of Economics.

After earning a BSc in International Management from Middlesex University Andrea started her professional life in marketing and conference management, organising worldwide conferences for the e-commerce sector from Los Angeles to Shanghai. She then moved on to earn an MSc in Organisational Social Psychology as well as a PhD in Psychology from the London School of Economics. In her spare time Andrea enjoys heading to exhibitions and art galleries, travelling to far flung places like Madagascar or Australia and exploring remote regions of the UK with a backpack.

Andrea is joining us at an exciting time when the University is investing heavily into employability and personal development through programmes like the curriculum framework, the increase in one year placements and a more personalised approach to development.

For instance, the improvements to the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey are a good indicator on how the cooperation between Careers and Schools has improved the careers prospects of our students, but more innovative and joint up work is required to achieve outstanding results across all subject areas.

On her appointment, Andrea said:

“For Reading my ambition is to contribute to an already outstanding team, to help UoR students transition into exciting and fulfilling work lives, and to ensure our community is connected to the leading employers and organisations that matter today and in the future.”

Andrea begins her role on Thursday 15 June 2017.
