The Senate is the University's main academic administrative body and reports to the University Council. It meets at least four times a year and advises on areas such as student entry, assessment and awards.

The Senate is comprised of Heads of Schools, elected School representatives, professional staff and students, and currently has around 100 members. They play a vital role in instigating changes across the University, and serve as the reporting body for boards tasked with developing teaching and learning, research and global engagement.
