90th anniversary: register for world record attempt and shuttle travel by Thursday 10 March
Monday, 07 March 2016
We have just over one week before we celebrate our 90th anniversary, and we need your help to make the occasion as memorable as possible!
On Thursday 17 March, we are inviting staff and students to join us in the Palmer Quad between 1–2 pm for cake and refreshments, with entertainment provided by our University Big Band. You don’t need to formally register to attend- all are welcome, so please come along!
Arrangements are being made for staff looking to travel from Greenlands and London Road- please be sure to complete the short online form by Thursday 10 March if you require transport.
During our lunchtime celebrations, we’ll also be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘most simultaneous human cradle lifts’. In groups of three, staff and students will simultaneously perform a 'four-hand seat carry', inspired by our first Vice-Chancellor being ‘chaired’ by students on hearing news of our Royal Charter.
We need your help to beat the world record- sign up on our 90th anniversary website today! Registration must be complete by Thursday 10 March.
Please visit our dedicated 90th anniversary website for full details.
