About us

The Reading Systems Biology Network (RSBN) is designed to facilitate interactions between the Life, Physical, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Reading, with other institutions and with industry. It will foster new interdisciplinary collaborations and initiate exciting new projects.

For the purposes of the network the term Systems Biology is broadly defined. Examples include, but are not restricted to, mathematical models of biological processes, the use of cybernetics to understand the central nervous system and prevent disease, a team of statisticians, mathematicians and environmental scientists working to reduce toxic pollutant levels in the environment and computer scientists and systems engineers working on biological data storage and manipulation.

The RSBN programme includes an exciting series of seminars by external speakers, Life Science work sessions and one day workshops. Please join our mailing list to be kept up-to-date about recent RSBN and associated events.

Steering Committee

The RSBN is overseen by a Steering Committee consisting of members drawn from departments across the University of Reading. The committee meets once a quarter to ensure a lively programme of seminars, Life Science work sessions and one day workshops.
