Your development and training

We provide a wide range of training events and opportunities for Research Staff. The courses provided by the Centre for Staff Training and Development are free to University staff. The Research Staff Training & Development Brochure 2011-12 lists workshops which are focused on the needs of research staff. A wider list of workshops can also be found on the CSTD website. From here you are able to see the next available workshops, and book a place.

If we do not have a workshop scheduled, then email cstd@reading.ac.uk or phone ext. 7097 and ask to be placed on a waiting list.

Certificate in Research Career Management (CRCM)

The Certificate in Research Career Management is a course for Research Staff and accredited by the Staff Educational Development Association. It is run by CSTD in conjunction with the Careers Advisory Service. Its aims are to:

• Improve your effectiveness at managing a research project.
• Improve your personal and career development skills.

Further training opportunities

In addition to the workshops provided by CSTD, research staff can participate in training provided by a number of other training providers.
