Quality and approval process
CPD encompasses a diverse range of provision, both credit and non credit bearing. All credit bearing courses are approved by Student Recruitment Academic Provision (STRAP).
It is also important to ensure that, for new non-credit bearing CPD courses they are of appropriate quality and of a standard equal to that dictated by the School. An approval process has been developed to provide guidelines for Schools to ensure that a non-credit bearing course is appropriate to carry the University brand, is an approved use of staff time as well as an appropriate activity for the University to invest time and resource in developing.
It is recommended that staff planning the development of a new non credit bearing CPD course should complete a Staff approval to develop deliver non-credit bearing CPD course form (PDF-37KB) and gain approval from their appropriate Head of School. Approval will indicate that it should be carried out in the context of workload, available resources and strategic priorities of the School.
