LiveID Password Reset

NOTE:

If you want to reset your password, please contact ITS Help for assistance on this.

You will need to reset your readingLive password to be able to access readingLive from your smartphone or email client.

Your readingLive password is entirely separate to your University password (used to access Blackboard, University PCs etc.)

There is a loop which requires you to set a secret question, for which you will need your password. IT Services are working to eliminate this requirement as a priority.

Make sure you are signed out of any Hotmail or Windows Live account before following this guide.

Go to account.live.com and select Forgot your password?

PW_Reset_1

Please remember to substitute your own LiveID in place of the generic settings below

Your LiveID will be either:

<username>@live.reading.ac.uk or <username>@live.henley.com

PW_Reset_2

Choose to send the details to your email address if prompted:

PW_Reset_3

If you have already set your secret question, you should be able to answer this.

You must now sign in again via live.reading.ac.uk in order to retrieve the reset password instructions.

The instructions are clear on this, please copy and paste the first Hyperlink into your browser window and you will be sent to the reset password screen.

Alternatively, you can cancel the request, should you so wish, but you will not then be able to use your smartphone or email client with this system.

Please reset your password & remember to use your appropriate liveID in the relevant field.

As you can see from the password strength bar, the system judges your password as to the security strength it possesses.

Notes:

Should you be shown this screen, please skip it as you will always be able to log in to readingLive via live.reading.ac.uk
