Internal, open access

Junk Mail Filter

Spam and Junk mail is handled differently in readingLive to how it has previously been managed in webmail.

Spam messages will be delivered to the Junk E-mail folder in readingLive rather than to the University AutoSpam System, managed by IT Services.

They will be accessible via Email Clients, Smartphones & web browsers, but will not be accessible from a separate webmail service such as www.autospam.reading.ac.uk.

Whitelisting and Blacklisting are managed from within readingLive.

To access this service, Sign in to readingLive

After signing in, click Options, then select Block or Allow from the menu on the left.

IMPORTANT:

IT Services are unable to copy whitelists and blacklists from www.mailopts.reading.ac.uk

During the transition period, until the migration of all accounts is complete, mail to @student.reading.ac.uk or @pgr.reading.ac.uk addresses will pass through IT Services' Spam filter and then be forwarded to readingLive.

Messages which are marked as spam should still be delivered to the Junk E-mail folder.

If you still have a problem with Junk Mail, please contact ITS-Help@reading.ac.uk and we will investigate further.
