Email Client Setup

IT Services advise that you make sure you are signed out of any Hotmail or Windows Live account before following this guide.

You cannot set up your client until you have completed the readingLive Password Reset process.

 

IMPORTANT:

IT Services recommend that you set up access to readingLive using Microsoft Outlook version 2007 or newer.

We also recommend that you set it up using the instructions found at:

help.outlook.com/en-us/140/ms.exch.ecp.useoutlookanywhere.aspx

You will not be able to follow the Addressbook Migration process unless you connect to readingLive using the above instructions.

NB. During the Outlook setup process, if you are presented with a box as below, select "Do not upgrade"

You can access Microsoft Outlook in the PC Labs and in S@il on PCs supplied by IT Services.

You can obtain a copy of Microsoft Office 2010 by following the information on the webpage below:

There are alternative email clients, but you may not be able to access your Calendar or Contacts.

Note:

Please see the IMAP configuration information for readingLive page for examples of specific IMAP & SMTP Server settings. This includes advice on resolving Folder Subscription issues, such as Sent Items on IMAP.
