You can always access your readingLive email via live.reading.ac.uk
Sign in on this page using your University username and password.
You collected your username as part of the online enrolment at the University or you may have been given it in a letter format. The username has eight characters; the first two are letters, ther other six are the last six digits of your student number.
Using a Smartphone or your own computer
Important:The readlingLive service is provided by Microsoft and your account with them is called a LiveID. This is entirely separate from your University of Reading Username. The format of the LiveID will either be: <username>@live.reading.ac.uk e.g. ab123456@live.reading.ac.uk or <username>@live.henley.com e.g. ab123456@live.henley.com |
If you want to use a smartphone or your own computer:

You need to manually reset your LiveID password as shown in the readingLive Password Reset process.
- Once you have reset your password follow the instructions in readingLive Email Client Setup or readingLive Smartphone Configuration
Note:
You will need specific IMAP and SMTP server settings for your smartphone or alternative email client setup to work. To find these:
Sign in via live.reading.ac.uk to find your server settings.
- After you sign in, click the drop-down arrow next to the Help question mark, and then click About.
- The IMAP4 server name and other settings you may need to enter are listed on the About page under External IMAP setting.
- The SMTP server name and other settings are listed under External SMTP setting.
