SkyDrive File Storage
readingLive is more than just an email service, you will see from the More menu that there is an online file storage service called SkyDrive.
This service provides 25GB of online storage for each account independent of your email account and can be used, for example, instead of a USB memory stick.
The use of SkyDrive is for personal items only.
Use of the SkyDrive service is subject to Microsoft's Terms of Use which you must accept before using the service. If you are not happy to accept Microsoft's Terms of Use then do not use the service.
Please note that SkyDrive Online File Storage comes with no guarantees about availability/backup/security and resides in Microsoft's "Cloud", ie on servers distributed around the world. As these are not all based within the European Union they may not be subject to data protection laws conforming with the EU Data Protection Directive.
Personal data as defined by the Data Protection Act (1998) MUST NOT be stored on your Skydrive.
More information on the Data Protection Act can be found in the University Calendar
All University of Reading related work should be stored on Blackboard or your 'N' Drive, where IT Services provide a backup and restore service and can ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of your files.
If you have a problem with SkyDrive, please contact ITS-Help@reading.ac.uk and we will investigate further.
