The University of Reading is one of the leading research-intensive Universities in the UK and we have an established world reputation in life sciences. Life Sciences at the University of Reading was ranked 67th in the world by Times Higher Education World University rankings, putting us in 11th place in the UK (November 2015). Similarly, Agriculture & Forestry at the University of Reading was ranked 19th in the world by QS World University Rankings by Subject (October 2015), top of only 2 UK institutions listed in their global top 50.

Research in Life Sciences covers a broad spectrum, from agriculture and agricultural economics, through biological sciences, horticulture, chemistry, to food and nutritional sciences, pharmacy, psychology and clinical language sciences.

Graduate training in Life Sciences

Generic research and transferable skills training for postgraduate research students in Life Sciences is provided by the University's , which offers a series of workshops and on-line courses, to supplement training provided by Schools and Departments.
