General Support on Blackboard

To find out how to get general help, support and training on using Blackboard Learn either as staff or a student, take the following steps:

1. Login to Blackboard Learn ( http://www.bb.reading.ac.uk/ ) with your University username and password
2. Click on the E-Learning Support tab at the top
3. The I am a student orientation course is opened which can be used by students new to Blackboard to find their way around
4. Staff can click on the I am staff tab to see what E-Learning Support is available for staff

Both of the above courses are very comprehensive and are being continually updated and improved.

Blackboard ITS Training Course

Teach yourself how to find out about ITS Training and use the training materials using our self-paced Blackboard course. This course is only accessible to users with a Reading University username and password.

The course covers general information, finding ITS training materials, downloading example files, extra hands-on tasks and learning units for certain materials.

There is also a survey for feedback about the ITS courses.

1. Go to the Blackboard Learn login page on the web (see link under Things to do now)
2. Log in to Blackboard with your Reading University username and password
3. Click on the Enrolments tab at the top of the screen 
4. Type ITS Training Courses in the Course Search box (on the left) and click on Go
5. Next to the Course ID of VIDITS-04-5NR, click on the  icon (this is known as a contextual menu)  and choose Enrol 
6. Click on the Submit button on the Self Enrolment screen and OK on the next screen. You will now be taken to the course pages

This course will now be listed under Courses in which you are enrolled in the Courses box under the Enrolments tab.
